PTA HELP

Where to report SIM fraud and what evidence to keep

Separate operator action, sim fraud, telecom complaints, financial disputes and crime reports so each issue reaches the right organization.

Prepared 22 October 2026 · General guidance; check current provider requirements

Different organizations handle different parts of a SIM-fraud incident. Securing the connection, disputing a transaction and reporting a crime are related tasks, but one report may not complete them all.

Your mobile operator

Ask it to secure the line and investigate unauthorized registration, replacement or porting. Keep a reference and the time of your request. Use our network directory to begin from official support pages.

PTA

Use the complaint guide for a telecom dispute or unresolved operator issue. Keep the previous operator reference and state the action you want reviewed.

Financial provider

If money is involved, contact the bank or wallet immediately through its official channel. Ask it to secure access and record a dispute. Do not wait for the mobile investigation to finish.

Suspected crime

Use current government reporting channels, including the NCCIA complaint portal, where applicable. Older articles may refer to former organisational arrangements. Confirm the current process on the official site; this guide does not guarantee jurisdiction or acceptance.

Evidence checklist

Save a timeline, messages, transaction references, operator responses and relevant receipts. Describe what you directly observed. Do not guess legal sections or alter screenshots to make the case look stronger.
