Use 668 when you prefer SMS
PTA’s published awareness material also points users to 668 for checking connections in their name. Send your own CNIC number by SMS to 668. Check applicable SMS charges with your operator before sending; do not assume the message is free or included in your bundle.
On a dual-SIM phone, select the line that can send SMS. Wait for a reply before trying again. If the message fails, use the web service or read 668 troubleshooting.
If the count is higher than expected
Check whether you have an older connection, a second line, or a data SIM you still own. Then ask the relevant operator to investigate any unexplained entry. Do not assume the extra connection belongs to a criminal or publish your result online.
Ask for a complaint reference and a written explanation of the next step. An unfamiliar registration needs an operator investigation; a third-party website cannot remove it for you. Use our unauthorised SIM guide to prepare your report.
If the result looks out of date
Keep the date of your recent registration, replacement or closure. Ask your operator whether the record has been updated and when you should check again. There is no guaranteed refresh time stated in this guide.
Does this check reveal an owner’s name?
It is a registration-count service. To resolve the identity attached to a SIM you control, contact the operator through its official support route. It is not a public reverse lookup service for strangers.
