How to check the network of a mobile number
Find the network serving a mobile number and understand why prefixes do not always show its current operator.
On this page
A mobile prefix can suggest the network that originally issued a number. It is not conclusive after number portability. Network identification also does not reveal the subscriber’s name or location.
The published SMS option
The SIM Information System currently displays this format: send N, a space and the mobile number to 76367. Its published price is Rs. 2 plus tax. Check the official page before sending because prices and availability can change.
Use the format shown by the service rather than sending repeated variations. Do not confuse 76367 with an operator’s separate port-in destination.
Understand the result
Treat the reply as information about the serving network. It is not proof of who called, whether the caller is trustworthy or whether caller ID was genuine. An unwanted call should be handled through reporting and blocking.
If you only need help with your own SIM
Your operator’s app, bill or support channel may already identify the service. If you recently ported your number, keep the confirmation and contact the receiving operator about unresolved service issues.
