SIM limits and registration eligibility: what to confirm

Check your existing connections and ask the operator about the current registration limit for your identity and service type.

Prepared 8 October 2026 · General guidance; check current provider requirements

Before buying another SIM, check the connections already registered against your identity. Then confirm the current limit and eligibility with the operator for the exact service you want.

Why a single headline number can mislead

Voice connections, data-only products and special subscriber categories may have different treatment. A total found on a blog should not be treated as an approval to activate another line. This guide does not publish an unverified universal limit.

If an activation is refused

Ask for the reason: a connection limit, an identity-document problem, a biometric issue or another restriction. Request the authorised route to correct it. If a count includes an unknown connection, report the discrepancy.

Avoid shortcuts

Do not activate a connection under another person's identity to bypass a restriction. If the phone is for a child or employee, ask about the appropriate authorised arrangement and responsibilities.

What to record

Keep the operator's advice, product type and date. Review the rule again before a later purchase because eligibility and procedures can change.
