SIM information, CNIC records and verification explained

Understand registration counts, operator account records and biometric verification without confusing them with public owner-search tools.

Prepared 8 October 2026 · General guidance; check current provider requirements

A SIM registration count, a subscriber record and a biometric check serve different purposes. A public count result should not be treated as a complete account record or a certificate of successful biometric verification.

Three different questions

A registration-count service answers how many connections are recorded against an identity. An operator's subscriber record concerns a particular connection. An identity or biometric process checks information needed for an authorised transaction.

Terms such as BVS, MBVS and SVMS may appear in discussions of these systems. An acronym alone does not prove that a third-party website has access to official records. We do not describe unpublished internal database connections as established facts.

CNIC and SIM records

If your identity document is expired, incorrect or being renewed, use NADRA's official channels for the identity issue. Ask your mobile operator what it needs to update the connection's subscriber record. Completing one process should not be assumed to automatically complete the other.

Where to begin

Use the registration-count guide for a count. Use biometric verification help for a service-centre visit. For an unfamiliar registration, follow the reporting guide.
